introduction

Children in Year 6 are given more responsibilities and take on an important role across the school. They are the role models for our school. Y6 leaders are voted for by the whole school - the head boy and head girl positions are voted for, as well as other Y6 leader positions. The Year 6s also apply to be school buddies to help and support children on the playground.

If you would like to contact your child's class teacher, you are welcome to talk to them at drop off and pick up times, or contact them at:

Before we broke up for Easter, the children were treated to a musical performance. They have been learning music for various amounts of time with Jacqui Reidlinger, one of our visiting music teachers here at Cockington. If you would like to find out more about music lessons for your child, please contact us to find out more.

Year 5 had a wonderful trip to Torre Abbey this morning! We got to explore the church ruins, the undercrofts and the 800 year exhibition. We had a lot of fun and learnt so much about our local history. The children were beautifully behaved and very respectful.

What a great day to Connect! 🥳Today, all of our schools in the MAT met for the second time Here at Cockington Primary School. We discussed events that have happened in our schools, as well as thinking of an idea for a future joint project. This afternoon, children from years 1, 5 and 6 went to watch the amazing Torquay Academy Performing Arts production of Matilda Jr. The show was incredible and so inspiring. Well done to all of the performers as well as the Cockington children, who behaved beautifully.

Mrs Green from SwisCo came into school last week to take some photos of our school councillors dressed as crossing patrol officers. This is part of a campaign to recruit someone for the Avenue Road vacancy that has been advertised for a while now. If you know of anyone that would be interested in the role, please see the vacancies section on the Torbay Council website. Thank you!
