Super Saturday! ⚽️⚽️
Wow! What an amazing way to start half term, with a win at Torquay United.
We were given tickets by Torquay United AFC to enjoy the match. Mr Taylor organised for around 90 children from the school football teams to come and enjoy the event. For some of the children, it was their first ever football match. It had thrills galore, with Two Torquay goals, a penalty save, and end to end action. We were treated to a half time signing opportunity by number 24 Jacob Wellington, and then right at the end, we managed to persuade player of the match - goalkeeper James Hamon - for a photo opportunity. We even saw Neil Warnock!
It was such a great afternoon, the children sang throughout and they were so well behaved. Thank you Torquay United AFC and a massive thank you again to Mr Taylor and all the staff who went with them.👏
Now we can all enjoy a much needed half term!😁

This half-term, children in Year 2 have been learning about animals and their habitats in science. Yesterday, the children worked scientifically and went on a minibeast hunt. They predicted what they might find, recorded their results and presented them in a bar chart. What fun!

Year 5/6 Boys Football
Cockington A 4 -1 Oldway A
Goals
Marek, Leo, Alfie and Leon
POTM
Leon
For the first game of the 2025 we welcomed a former teacher of Cockington - Mr Hallett and his Oldway side. The boys put in a fantastic performance! The boys came out of the blocks very fast and made the keeper produce some wonderful saves. Marek blasted us to a 1-0 lead at half time. The goal of the day was from Leo, hitting a dipping shot over the keeper and nestling into the top corner. Alfie and Leon finished the scoring with two very composed finishes. POTM was Leon for a strong attacking performance, being confident on the ball and showing real progression in his game.
Cockington B 1-2 Oldway B
Goals
Oscar
POTM
Harry S
This game was a very even game but Oldway raced into a quick 2-0 lead. It took a while for the boys to settle down in the game. Captain Oscar scored our only goal of the game with a very determined run and a calm finish into the bottom corner. Harry A in goal made some very important saves and kept us in the game. POTM went to Harry S for being that driving force on the ball, and getting us up the pitch. He also did a great job covering his defenders.
Well done, all!

It involves softball cricket sessions with various focuses each week but the main focus is around providing a place for young people to be active and feel part of a group each week.
By establishing sustainable community cricket hubs, we provide year-round weekly cricket sessions with a focus on breaking down barriers.
Our sessions help in developing crucial life skills, creating stronger communities and enabling brighter futures for those taking part.
